The Ministry of Labor certified Grupo Energía Bogotá with the Silver Seal for its work on gender equality

Bogotá D.C. June 5, 2020: Thanks to the work undertaken over the past four years, the Ministry of Labour informed Grupo Energía Bogotá (GEB) that it had been awarded the "Silver Seal" certification for implementing the Gender Equality Management System, Equipares.
This certification is awarded by the Ministry of Labour and the Presidential Advisory Office for Women's Equity, with technical support from the United Nations Development Program. Equipares is a program that invites companies and organizations to work towards gender equality and closing gaps by implementing measures and actions to achieve this.
Astrid Álvarez, CEO of Grupo Energía Bogotá, highlighted this great achievement by saying that "this recognition brings us great pride because it is the result of the great work of our employees who, with great passion and commitment, achieved the goal of having a more diverse, inclusive and gender-equal company.
The CEO also said that "I am convinced that talent has no gender and that diversity allows us to strengthen work teams and achieve better results. As business leaders, we have a responsibility to contribute to a more balanced, more sustainable society with less discrimination and inequality. Only in this way will we achieve progress for countries and sustainable growth for companies”.

To achieve this recognition, GEB has taken the following steps:
In partnership with the Ministry of Labour and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Group implemented the Gender Equality Management System "Equipares", whose purpose is to close gender gaps in organizations.
After conducting an organizational assessment and creating and implementing a comprehensive action plan, the external audit of the system was completed with an outstanding result of 95% compliance with the Equipares standard.
Grupo Energía Bogotá has a Diversity and Inclusion Policy that lays down the principles and guidelines for promoting and maintaining a work environment and corporate culture with equal opportunities, rights and responsibilities, without any type of discrimination, and guaranteeing equality between men and women.
The Group created a Diversity and Inclusion Committee, whose role is to ensure compliance with the Policy and to coordinate and monitor the implementation of diversity and inclusion efforts in GEB. The salary gap among its more than 2.300 employees is practically non-existent, at 0.88%. Fairness in the selection process is also reflected in the candidates who applied for positions in GEB in 2019: 53.9% of the candidates were women and 46.1% were men.
With advances in diversity and inclusion in recent years, today Grupo Energía Bogotá is a more equitable and inclusive company.
